Although this specific domain hasn’t seen any updates, I wanted to note that I am still available as your photographer. I’ve been grappling with using this domain or scottwebb.me as my personal photography name. I’ve also started up Flat White Photography which is specifically for my people photography work. This includes wedding photography, children portrait photography, corporate headshots, newborn baby photography, and the works. You see there are different levels to my domain challenges. What about my architectural photography? The thought was to put it up on Flat White as well; however, it doesn’t feel right to me still. I’d like a specific domain that rings true with architectural photography.

I’m working on it.

The contact form here always works and I will be notified if you’re looking for more details and want to get in touch.

This is for anyone that wants to get out and shoot some photography in London! Let’s have some fun with mobile photography.

If you’re a photographer or interested in photography [at all], there is an upcoming photowalk later this month in London! This walk isn’t just for hardcore photographers. This walk is for anyone that wants to look around London, photograph parts of the city, meet new people, and get some use out of that digital camera of yours.

We are going on a tour of the back alleys of downtown London. Murals, graffiti and many other sights!
Everyone is welcome no matter what your photography experience…..we will meet in front of the Central library on Dundas at 3 pm Saturday April 30, 2011. See you there! ~ Chris

Last month I set up a meetup for people interested in Instagram and Mobile Photography; however, there were a total of 3 of us that made it out. No worries on that, but with a coming photowalk, I wanted to make bring up something that I hope helps to encourage anyone to come out.

Many people start to feel discouraged when being around a bunch of photographers that are using expensive DSLRs. With this photowalk on April 30th, I’ll be using my iPhone 3Gs only. Mobile photography as a limitation was a creative photowalk tip I shared back in June of 2009 [before I even owned an iPhone] and now I hardly see a mobile phone camera as a limitation at all.

I would like to encourage anyone that plans to attend the London Photowalk to attempt a walk of mobile photography! Consider it a challenge if you want; however, it’s not a challenge at all. The point to using your iPhone or whatever phone you have, is that you can instantly share those photographs as the photowalk is on. This is especially true with iPhone photography apps like Instagram and Color.

I’ve made it no secret that I believe in the democratized photographers that mobile photography has created today. Leave the big bulky DSLR at home and join me on the London Photowalk using only a mobile phone.

If you do have an iPhone or iPod Touch, we can decide on the hashtag for sharing these images in the Instagram App. Either #ldnont or #lopw – I personally would prefer #ldnont as it promotes images of London, Ontario on Instagram and could potentially show off our city in a really cool and collaborative way.

If you’re not familiar with Instagram, I’ve included a few great resources at the end of this post.

Will you be out for the Photowalk? I hope so. I’d love to see what we can create with mobile photography.

I would love to book more wedding photography. I had an interesting experience shooting my first wedding – one that involved a great day of shooting, but also includes my struggles with the batch processing. I have learned so much from my experience and have resolved some plans to change up the processing of all portrait photography. My own frustration with the amount of time it’s taken me to get the images back to clients has forced me to rethink the way I return client photography.

I will be sharing much more on this soon but it involves a faster and much more social process that is a whole lot of fun too. Keep an eye out here.

I wanted to show off the architectural wonder that is the Wright Lighographing Co. through my vision. The building has always been so interesting because of the amazing brickwork, style, and the Boston Ivy that grows on the exterior.

In the spring of 2010, I noticed the Ivy had been removed from the architecture. You might think that it would be an improvement to the building and show it off more; however, I adored the green sustainable wall that the Boston Ivy was creating.

The growth you can see in these pictures was done over the spring, summer, and fall. It made some pretty good headway in a short time!

The building is beautiful and I hope my photography does it justice.

The image being shared is actually quite large. Our website allows for nice large images and we’re taking advantage of it. Not many photography websites will go so large in fear of the images being stolen and not paid for by clients. Of course stealing is ridiculous and we’re all adults, but I’m not going to share little images because of it.

We want to show you that we’re not trying to hide anything. Even once clients receive their images we try and encourage them to create something too. This little guys Mom is a top notch stamper, card maker, and scrapbooker! We want Mom to get creative with the final images just as much as we would too. Follow that link and you can see that a scrapbooking page has been made with one of our previous photographs of the little dude. Or click here

Some photographers will have it in their contract and consistently state that you are not to use the images other than for personal use in your home or you must not crop, alter, edit the images provided to you. I know where these other photographers come from; however, we WANT TO SEE what else you create!

We create awesome photography and top quality photographs for our clients. We visualize our process as the beginning. We promote creativity and using your images in your own art. All we ask is that you share it with us when you do create your art.

Architecture in the urban core of Vancouver is nothing short of inspirational….

While in Vancouver, I found that I was reunited with Architecture. I graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Architecture, but I never went on to practice. There were a number of reasons, but I believe everything has been falling perfectly in line – as it really should be. My connection with Architecture seems to be found within the photography. Architectural photography is both interesting and inspirational.

These are a few of the architectural images I caught of the Vancouver Convention Centre as it was nearing completion. I’d love to go back now and photograph it fully done and get interior photographs too. In due time.

When I got the call from John, I was awesomely surprised to hear from him as I had left TD Canada Trust about 6 months earlier. I knew it had to be something important!

When I got the call from John, I was awesomely surprised to hear from him as I had left TD Canada Trust about 6 months earlier. I am honored that John thought he could put faith in me to help capture their upcoming July 2011 Wedding. We’ve known each other for a long time, going back to young days of house league soccer (we always won too, by the way). We lost touch, but we were reunited when I started working for TD Canada Trust. I had spotted John working while I was being trained, but little did I know I’d end up on the same work team. Interestingly enough, our work team started to win all kinds of challenges within our department! With this kind of background, I knew we would come away with rad engagement photography!

Here’s a teaser image from the engagement photography session at the London Civic Gardens Complex off Springbank Road in London Ontario. I loved the spot where John & Alissa could sit on the bench together because Alissa and John were just hanging out on the bench as if they were at home on the couch. (just an aside, I really want to say “Chesterfield” instead of couch because it’s super nerdy canadian – so if I start saying it, embrace the inner nerd.)

We created a music video of the portraits from the engagement session as well. Just follow that link.

I’ve probably followed Chris Guillebeau for a couple of years now. The guy isn’t a therapist or a doctor that can prescribe new medication to help me with bipolar depression; however, he is an integral part of allowing me to see that there is possibility outside the walls of a cubicle and away from a headset. I couldn’t not make the time to get out into Toronto and meet him. The stop also allowed me to get some more event photography under my belt….

Before the actual talk and book signing, I met up with my first year university roommate – Jeremy! The connection had been found via Flickr and Twitter about 10 years or so after meeting him. We tried to get some people together for a short photowalk downtown Toronto but the others couldn’t make it. I’m still trying to piece together what the universe is sending me these days. I am certain it (the universe) is up to something.

I mention Jeremy because he asked about the author that we had come to see. I’ve never really explained Chris Guillebeau to anyone so as I was saying things out loud, I became even more fascinated. Chris is living a remarkable life – entrepreneur, business mogul, blogger, author, banana grabber, ect. His book tour was 100% self-funded and consisted of stops in all 51 states in the US and 10 provinces in Canada.
