Alissa and John’s Engagement Photography Portraits
When I got the call from John, I was awesomely surprised to hear from him as I had left TD Canada Trust about 6 months earlier. I knew it had to be something important!
When I got the call from John, I was awesomely surprised to hear from him as I had left TD Canada Trust about 6 months earlier. I am honored that John thought he could put faith in me to help capture their upcoming July 2011 Wedding. We’ve known each other for a long time, going back to young days of house league soccer (we always won too, by the way). We lost touch, but we were reunited when I started working for TD Canada Trust. I had spotted John working while I was being trained, but little did I know I’d end up on the same work team. Interestingly enough, our work team started to win all kinds of challenges within our department! With this kind of background, I knew we would come away with rad engagement photography!
Here’s a teaser image from the engagement photography session at the London Civic Gardens Complex off Springbank Road in London Ontario. I loved the spot where John & Alissa could sit on the bench together because Alissa and John were just hanging out on the bench as if they were at home on the couch. (just an aside, I really want to say “Chesterfield” instead of couch because it’s super nerdy canadian – so if I start saying it, embrace the inner nerd.)
We created a music video of the portraits from the engagement session as well. Just follow that link.

The leaves created an almost impressionist painting in the background that also allowed for our subjects to jump out.

These are images that can be used for all kinds of things. An image like this can be cropped in close and actually get 3 or 4 images from one.

The light and colours were perfect in this area even though the sun was being very difficult on the day.

This is one of our favorite portraits from the day. Why? Because it is perfect. It’s the squished noses.

John & Alissa Seriously Discuss the Wedding February 8, 2011
I loved the way the vines were casting shadows almost like the 2 of them were caught in a net together. Just the 2 of them. Nice catch!
